About

Travel….there are so many places to see, interesting people to meet and fun things to do. You want to keep those memories forever–can we say “picture, picture.” Along with great photos come great stories as well. Every trip has a story and writing it down helps keep the memory alive, just like your photograph.

Here’s my story…

When I was 8 my grandparents gave me a book called “Linnea in Monet’s Garden” by Lena Anderson. I was hooked. From then on I loved France and everything about it. French became my favorite language, and Claude Monet became my favorite artist. With time, I developed a love for Europe as a whole because of its art and culture.
History has always fascinated me as well. In school when other kids started gazing off into space at the mention of the Renaissance or Columbus’s three ships, I was captivated. These two things combined have made traveling to any destination a great adventure.
Writing isn’t something that I have always loved. It seems to be a talent that I had to learn to like, and then became attached to–while in college. Unlike many students, I only had one major–journalism. I couldn’t imagine doing anything else. I worked for the school paper as a staff writer, and never really excelled when writing “real” news. I did so much better with the soft news and features. Finally my professor made me the features writer, and we were both much happier.

After moving around the country and writing for a few different organizations, a career in freelance travel writing is calling, and I am happy to answer. Hello, world…here I come.
